| Why use newsgroups? |
Usenet is a great way to spread information or data. We use newsgroups for mutiable reasons: 1) One file will get to thousands of people, You only have to upload it once insted of 100's of times. (IE. BT, FTP, IRC) 2) It's alot faster then any other method. Those with fast broadband and a decent host can download at speeds above 600kb/s. |

| How do I download from newsgroups? |
There are alot of ways to download from newsgroups. First, You need a news reader. For downloading files, I suggest Newsleecher, or Grabit. Grabit is a free program, while newsleecher is not. I suggest using both and you can decide what is better. You will also need Winrar to unextract the files. You may also want to get QuickPAR to make sure the files are complete. |
